THE EVIL SPACE GOVERNMENT (ESG)
THE EVIL SPACE GOVERNMENT is in control of much of the Universe. They believe that spacecraft and artifical life is more supieror than planet life and have colonised and harvested many planets for fuel. A lot of people think there's actually two factions fighting, but the war is actually fake and its all one big government which they're using as propaganda. ITS ALL KIND OF BAD. someone rewrite this for me
THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE
The closer you go to the edge of the universe, the more things start to unravel and break. It's unknowable and looking at it will Break You. The universe is also like a big patchwork blanket, with rips and tears and so some places some of the strangeness from Beyond may leak in more than others. The universe also has a centre, the heart, and this is under the control of the ESG. The actions of the ESG (destroying and harvesting planets, killing people, generally wrecking the universe) is causing the thread of the universe to unravel and this is Bad. ALSO SOMEONE REWRITE THIS FOR ME.

Compost is the crews medic (of dubious quality as he DEFINITELY didn't learn all his medical skills from medical dramas what nooo)
He's a Novakid who found an abandoned ship on his home planet, and after being fully outcasted for the belief his "broken body2 could spread to other Novakids (it couldn't), he ran away to explore the stars. He was always moving, experiencing various different lives like becoming a drag queen, the shining star, and accidentally starting a cult on a small planet.
He eventually ended up joining a vigilante group against the ESG called the Omegas. That was a big part of his life for a while, but when a big mission with the leader went wrong and his ship got severely damaged too the point of no repair, he stumbled upon Elysia and kept following her yapping her ear off until she had to let him stay, starting the space crew!
Personality wise he's an absolute diva, always yapping and hates the silence and ignores all his trauma with his dead sister who he feels responsible for! Yippee!

Marshell is the navigator and handles communications (very badly) for the Spaceship 'The Wayward Voyager' a crew of (sometimes) bounty hunters on the run from the Evil Space Government.
Spending most of his childhood as a street urchin on the Mud planet of Beltloss, he took the first opportunity to leave he joined the military with the promise he would make something of his life. He served for a few years until a mission sent him directly investigate a small tear in fabric of the universe. Looking into this tear allowed him to understand everything about the universe, giving him the kind of knowledge morals do not have the mind to comprehend, this (obviously) drove him to partial madness resulting in im gouging out his own eyes in order to save himself from viewing it any longer. He was soon discharged from the military and returned to his home planet.
Eventually he stumbled onto the wayward Voyager which is in dire need of a navigator and his extended knowledge of the universe makes him very good at this.
He's a pretty odd guy but he means well, he's can be really cryptic under the assumption that the people around him know what he's going on about (they don't)

CRAYON IS THE CREW MECHANIC!!! this bug is my oc so i have a bigger page on them here
Crayon used to live on a small isolated planet where the fabric of the universe was very thin. This resulted in some of the weirdness from beyond to leak in, not a lot, but enough to make the lifeblood of the planet quite powerful.
The ESG found out about this and began to take over and harvest their planet for resources, taking crayon as a live test subject for further research. EVERYTHING SUCKS BEING A LAB RAT!!!! Whilst captured, crayon makes one friend, a bug like them, called circuit, who they eventually make plans to escape with. It goes... poorly. crayon getting seperated from its friend and horribly injured.
It makes it out though! and its found by the wayward voyager. It convinces them to take it home, but by that point their home is practically in ruins, so it decides to stay with the crew that saved it, in the hopes of finding circuit one day.
